*Teacher walks into class*

t: good morning students.
students: (chorus) good morning teacher.
t: are you ready for your interview today?
s: no teacher.
t: nvm here's what you should say for the qsns...remember that you should tell them what they want to hear not what you realli want to say ok?
s: yes teacher.

What You Should Answer:
Why do you want to be a teacher?
i find it to be an enriching career as i get to continually learn and grow alongside the students. plus after receiving twelve years of education both academic and non-academic, i would like to contribute to the society in playing a part in molding our future leaders.

Which subjects are you interested in teaching and why?
i prefer to teach Geography at any level or perhaps maths as these are my two areas of interest. i find geography fascinating as we can directly relate it to our surroundings and also it combines the usage of science particularly chemistry and physics thus making it a more interesting subject to teach and study (unlike certain sleep-inducing subjects like history). maths has always been one of my favourite subjects (though a certain Mr Kwek almost made me renounced it all together) and it is also straightforward, making it one of the more easier subject to teach.

What kind of changes do you think should be made to the education system?
well, i think the ministry have made more than enough changes recently so it would be good to allow these changes to be absorbed by those affected first. however i do feel that certain subjects such as literature, music and art appreciation has been duly neglected in the pursuit for maths and science. as the govt is also encouraging the growth of local artistic talent, i feel it would be prudent for MOE to also play a part by exposing students to these scene. such subjects would allow students to appreciate the arts properly and fully and also give them a deeper insight on life experiences. it would be nice if these subjects are not subjected to rigorous examinations procedure as well as it would take away the main purpose of their being taught to the students.

What do you aim to achieve should you become a teacher?
to be of influence to my students and gain their respect, to help the next generation realize their potential and achieve their dreams, to be a better person and learn more about myself.

t: thats all class. thank you.
s: thank you teacher.
