why i do not believe in 'live earth'

mainly because i fail to see how a bunch of celebrities relates to saving the earth. and how having a 24hr concert spanning across 7 continents have anything to do with conservation. 24 hour. 7 continents.

that is A LOT of electricity wasted.

on lights and sound and generators to keep everything running. plus 24hr live telecast beamed to almost every household in the world is even more waste of power for television set/s, light, air-con/fan etc. kinda defeat the purpose doesnt it?

and why must we have a concert? with celebrities singing songs which have nothing to do with the cause they are participating in. what lesson am i to draw from witnessing pussycat dolls prancing around the stage singing 'don't cha'? that one should wear lesser clothes --> lesser articles to wash --> dont need to use the washing machine that often --> save electricity and water? and what about the sheer noise pollution? shouldnt we reduce that too? how does having punk rockers screaming into microphones going to help the cause at all.

and let's not even go to the whole having the event at a grassy patch thing.

how abt next year, instead of spending oodles of money on this, we use it to plant more trees? plant trees across 7 continents, that'll be nice, not to mention more ecologically friendly. or have a day where everyone has to take public transport. or have ppl return the amount of carbon they used back to the environment.

just dont have any more concert! and stop playing that madonna song over and over and OVER

psst! i dont know if you noticed, but as all these live earth thingy is happening, 103 ppl had died in iraq from car bombing, and a certain neighbouring country has started haze production. again. perhaps we could use the cash from live earth to tackle these matters instead?
