tired is when

you sleep till the last possible minute even though you'll be horrific-ly late; your whole body's aching and you have panadols for breakfast; you want to sleep so much that all other needs are shut down, needs like food and drink; you have to persuade, cajole yourself to eat to keep up your energy level.

am tired.

let me tell you a story.

there was once a pair of lovers named eurydice and orpheus. orpheus loved his wife so much. unfortunately, this pair of lovers were separated when she died on their wedding day. orpheus refused to accept this and pleaded with his father, oneiros (Dream) to argue his case for him at the Underworld. but his father refused. orpheus then made a bargain with his aunt teluete (Death) to bring him down to the Underworld so he could fetch his bride back to the living. and she did. teluete showed him the way and as he journeyed, he encountered many interesting characters, some whom actually aided him on his journey. orpheus reached the Underworld, crossed the river of forgetfulness, and gained the audience of the Underworld king and queen, hades and his lovely wife, persephone. he sang them a ballad which caused them to concede to his wish as he was steering the Furies. hades would allow eurydice to live again under one rule. one condition. that on orpheus' journey back to the living world, he not speak nor look behind him for eurydice untill they reach the Living. orpheus left the Underworld with hades' laughter ringing in his ears. he kept silent and not once look back on his journey back. however, as he moved on, orpheus did not felt as if there was someone following him. as he saw the moonlight from the Living, orpheus was highly convinced that he had been the butt of hades' bad joke. he turned to look..and saw eurydice crying out his name as she's being pulled back into the Underworld because he had broken the rule. broken the rule few steps before they reached their destination. orpheus had lost eurydice forever.

familiar story? can you tell me what can you learn from this story?
